Luke 8:25 states: But He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, “Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!” Ellen White wrote the following:

When Jesus was awakened to meet the storm, He was in perfect peace … But He rested not in the possession of almighty power. It was not as the “Master of earth and sea and sky” that He reposed in quiet. That power He laid down, and He says, “I can of Mine own self do nothing” (John 5:30). He trusted in the Father’s might … As Jesus rested by faith in the Father’s care, so we are to rest in the care of our Saviour. DA336

Our confession of His faithfulness is Heaven’s chosen agency for revealing Christ to the world. We are to acknowledge His grace as made known through the holy men of old: but that which will be most effectual is the testimony of our own experience … These precious acknowledgements to the praise of the glory of His grace, when supported by a Christ-like life, have an irresistible power that works for the salvation of souls. The only way to have a testimony is to be willing to see each trial all the way through, to go the distance, to not allow giving up to be an option. Moment by moment Jesus says, “Come”. In the midst of the tasks that we have before us today, let's say, “Yes, Lord, here I come! I have some things I need to talk to you about.” Amen.
